Upgrade to Propane: Hot Water Heater Rebates Available

- 9:32 am - April 29th, 2017

Propane knocks electricity out of the water. Pun intended! We're talking about propane-powered hot water heaters here, and bar none, propane water heaters cost less to operate than traditional electric water heaters.

Now, as new water heater regulations take effect, more and more homeowners are switching to propane-powered tankless water heaters, which provide even more savings (not to mention endless hot water).

The best part? Rebates are now available, while supplies last, for Phillips Energy customers ready to upgrade to propane.

The Virginia Propane Research and Education Foundation’s (VAPREF) safe appliance installation rebate program for 2017 features tiered rebates based upon installation of propane-fueled appliances and is offering $300 for propane water heater, gas pack. Must be at least 40,000btu and 90 percent or more efficient. For hybrid heating systems – dual fuel system must include propane.

Other rebates are also available, including:

• $100 for propane clothes dryer

• $200 for vented propane heater and wall furnace

• $100 for propane cooktop range.

It all boils down to this when it comes to listing out the benefits of propane-powered hot water heaters.

  • reduced carbon footprint
  • less energy use and more savings
  • endless hot water
  • save valuable floor space where a big electric hot water heater used to be.

If you need more information, or want to take a quick quiz to see if it's time for you to upgrade, click here. The Propane Education and Research Council can help determine if it's time for you to pull the plug on your hot water heater.

In the long run, propane saves you money. Propane appliances are energy efficient and can cut your energy costs. Everyone wants to save money; propane will help you do it.

Its versatility is unmatched. Performance is the number one reason most people choose propane. It can efficiently and effectively meet nearly all of your home's major energy needs, inside and out, from space heating and water heating to outdoor lighting and fire pits.

It's clean. For homeowners interested in protecting the environment, propane is a clean low-carbon alternative fuel that produces significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions than most other energy sources. In addition, propane is a nontoxic fuel that won't contaminate soil or groundwater, making it safe to use anywhere.

It's American made, American loved. The United States is the world’s leading producer and exporter of propane. That means it’s abundantly available. It's portable, too, which means it can be used virtually anywhere, including areas beyond the reach of natural gas.

And perhaps most important, propane is safe and reliable

Phillips Energy can help you find the right propane product for your home – and life – and navigate the rebate process.
