Phillips Energy is thrilled to announce the success of its 2024 Giving Tuesday fundraiser, which raised $4,385.62 in monetary donations and soup sales, and collected a significant amount of non-perishable food items to support local families in need.

The funds and food collected benefitted three local food pantries that play a critical role in fighting food insecurity:

“Thanks to the generosity of our customers, employees, and community members, we’ve been able to make a meaningful difference this holiday season,” said Elizabeth McCormick, Vice President at Phillips Energy. “This incredible effort shows the power of coming together to support our neighbors across our entire region.”

The success of the annual fundraising event was tied to three key initiatives.

  • Community Food Donations: Through food drives at Phillips Energy’s Gloucester, Mathews and New Kent showrooms, community members contributed countless non-perishable food items. Donors also had the chance to win a $50 Phillips Energy gift card for every five food items or $5 donated.
  • Giving Tuesday Event: On December 3, 2024, Phillips Energy donated 10% of all sales from its public gas station in Gloucester, helping to bolster the total funds raised.
  • Soup: The community bought dozens of quarts of iconic Crab and Corn Chowder, made with love and donated to sell by Chef Hans Schadler and Tina Phillips.

"While the fundraiser has concluded, the need in our communities remains," McCormick said. "We encourage everyone to continue supporting local food pantries through donations and volunteer efforts. Together, we can keep the spirit of giving alive year-round."
