Phillips Energy Recognizing the “Longest Week” to Fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Association This Month

Each June, the Alzheimer’s Association hosts a global fundraising effort on the summer solstice, the “Longest Day” of the year.

This year, Phillips Energy is taking the annual summer fundraising a few steps further and recognizing the “Longest Week” with a series of events to help bring the community together to boost awareness and raise money to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.

“We are so proud to support the Alzheimer’s Association, a wonderful organization whose cause is very near and dear to our hearts,” said Phillips Energy Vice President Elizabeth McCormick. “Finding a way to END ALZ has become Phillips Energy’s signature cause, and we are humbled each and every year by the outpouring of support we get from our customers and community.”

The line-up of fundraising events starting Tuesday, June 21 includes the following:

Tuesday, June 21, 2022

7 a.m. to 5 pm.

Phillips Energy will donate 10% of all retail fuel sales at its public gas station near Gloucester Point to the Alzheimer's Association through the Phillips Energy's Walk to End Alzheimer's fundraising team.

Wednesday, June 22, 2022

4 to 7 p.m.

Meet the Phillips Energy team at the YROC Coastal Bar & Grill at Gloucester Point to “GET SPIRITED and PUMPED to END ALZ!” The Phillips Energy team will be helping raise awareness about Alzheimer’s, encouraging people to sign up for the 2022 Walk to End Alzheimer's Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck, and hosting a raffle.

Fuel up at Phillips Energy's Gloucester Point Public Gas Station and let a team of "celebrity pumpers" help you. They will be working for tips, all of which will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. 

“We can’t thank our team, our customers and this community enough for rallying behind this effort to help everyone suffering from and facing this terrible disease,” McCormick said. “Together we can do so much.”
